Physicians Formula has recently released a new collection of “CC” or “Color Correction” products, today i’ll be reviewing the CC+ Powder with SPF 30.
quick pros and cons:
Cons: Easily becomes cakey, soft, shows dry patches, doesn’t work as a setting powder, only comes in two shades “light” and “light/medium”
Pros: cute packaging, can create a flawless look (with effort), corrects uneven skin tone.
The powder comes in an adorable compact, underneath the powder is a mirror and small brush. Although this powder is cute, i’ve had better and for half the price. This retails for about $13-15, luckily I purchased mine on sale for $9 (which is still a lot for a penguin)
The powder itself is light and creamy, it originally came with three colors on the top (Pink, yellow, and green) however you can see that with use, those colors diminish.
I don’t recommend you use the brush that is included with this powder, the powder is very soft and the brush is stiff - meaning it picks up a ton of product, and with it’s size and shape, it really only places it where you initially press on your skin.
I also don’t recommend you place this powder over wet foundation/skin because it STICKS. Not only does it stick, it becomes cakey.
Im conflicted with how I feel about this product, it DOES cover up redness well, but it becomes heavy and cake very easily. It also doesn’t help any other makeup stay put - so it should not be used as a setting powder. It is also very expensive for a drugstore powder. However, if placed well over foundation, it does give a very “flawless” look, almost like a doll.
Overall, i’d rate it 4/10.
It’s too much money for the quality of the product.
